It all began with a ballpoint pen drawing during classes. Then came

exuberant and jubilant experiments where I tried everything : inks,

acrylics, pastels, chalk drawings on macadam, collages, calligraphy

and finally photography.

Initially considered as a practical way to memorize subjects glimpsed

during my walks, in an unpredictable way, the charm acted

immediately.

Photography is capable of creating all kinds of illusions, deceits like

superposition of images and their surprises, unusual and strange

mixtures. Combinations of images subject to accelerated aging

(lacerations, creases, stains ...) mixed with all kinds of materials

(peeling paint, cracked wall coatings...). But also streaks of light,

reflections and architectural details. When it's not the very structure

of the film subjected to the worst treatments. I have experimented so

much !

This series of images « Manipulated slides » made in argentic

photography between 1977 and 2007 was the subject of exhibitions

in art centers (CDBM) and especially at the gallery Jean-Pierre

Lambert in Paris, gallery with which I have also had the opportunity

to exhibit at FIAC Paris. I no longer sought to exhibit after, leading a

professional executive career in the industry.

I could still continue my research and realize several series of

images : Aeschylus (2876), Dioretsa (20461), Glyphs and finally

Carnival. These images stand out from my previous work by the use

of a digital and photo editing software but also scanners and later

vector image software. With the happy result of multiplying the

creative possibilities. But above all, the magic always operates, the

dream has not dissipated.

Even if I do not give up producing a new series of images darker

and mysterious or even disturbing in the same spirit that you can see

in the Aeschylus series (2876), I hope I have achieved my goal to

present colorful images, simple to apprehend and acting like a

« color therapy », at least I hope so !

May the poem be good and short with words for everyone. This

recipe is transposable to any form of artistic expression. The

audacity of simplicity and naturalness is often a success.

And if I preached for sparrows, never mind, I would have done it

with pleasure.
